The embedding of sleeves for fresh air systems is to ensure that the fresh air ducts can smoothly pass through the walls, floors, and other structures of the building, while meeting waterproof and sealing requirements. Embedded sleeves are usually divided into the following types:
Ordinary sleeve: Suitable for areas without waterproof requirements, the sleeve diameter is 2-4 cm larger than the duct diameter, fixed within the wall or slab, allowing the duct to pass through.
Flexible waterproof sleeve: Uses flexible materials to seal between the sleeve and duct, achieving a sealing effect, suitable for areas with waterproof requirements.
Rigid waterproof sleeve: Uses rigid materials to seal between the sleeve and duct, achieving a sealing effect, suitable for places requiring waterproof sealing.
Specific steps and precautions for embedding
Determine position and size: According to the design requirements of the fresh air system, determine the embedding position and size of the sleeve, ensuring accurate positioning.
Processing and fixing: Use steel plates no less than 3mm thick welded or welded steel pipes no less than 3mm thick to make a sealed pipe, ensuring tight welding to avoid leakage. Use mechanical rolling for fixing to ensure it is secure.
Waterproof treatment: After derusting inside the pipe, apply two coats of red lead paint and one coat of finish paint; only derusting is needed for pipes embedded in concrete. Set a slope of 0.5% towards the outside to prevent displacement during concrete pouring.
Avoid cutting structural rebar: Do not cut structural rebar without permission during embedding; structural professionals should handle it to ensure that the structure is not affected.
Sealing and fixing: Ensure the sealing effect between the sleeve and duct by using flexible or rigid materials for sealing, fixing securely to prevent air leakage and displacement.
By following the above steps and precautions, the embedding work of sleeves for fresh air systems can be carried out smoothly, meeting the usage requirements of the fresh air system.
